Upgrade, Integrate, Simplify.

We are always keen to audition new and innovative system components to adopt if they deliver better performance – from storage to speakers. Since the start of our business in 2007, high performance audio technology has developed very quickly, almost continuously and some new high-end audio products now offer even better performance from single, rather than, traditional multiple component systems.

One category in particular is high performance integrated amplifiers. Two stand-out products are available for demonstration: The Musical Fidelity Nu Vista 800 and Vitus Audio RI-100. Each can drive a broad range of loudspeakers and either can be an ideal upgrade.

We are currently listening with Linn analogue and digital sources and PS Audio DSD DAC through the fabulous Vitus Audio RI-100 integrated amplifier (with its own integrated DAC option too), swapping with the Musical Fidelity Nu Vista 800, Graham Audio loudspeakers and REL sub-bass arrays – passive system options that perform like an active system, due in part to Entreq signal grounding and Chord Music cables throughout the system from the Melco High Resolution Digital Music Library through to loudspeakers.

At the recent North West Audio Show, we were pleased to present the first UK preview of the new Graham Audio VOTU Floorstanding Loudspeaker. VOTU is developed from an original Graham Audio design for The Royal Opera House – System3D.

REL

Listening to a stereo music system with the addition of a “sub-woofer”, or more precisely, sub-bass sound reinforcement, re-ignites a personal passion for listening to stereo music with one or more subs. Indeed, REL, specialists in sub-bass sound reinforcement, take the addition and their unique array configuration of “subs” extremely seriously. Ideally suited for two-channel, and dedicated theatres.

At the recent North West Audio Show, we presented REL dual bass reinforcement arrays either side of the main left and right channel loudspeakers driving multiple room modes (forward, down and rear).

The result of an accurately configured REL sub system is the disappearance of room boundaries when listening to stereo music.

Many exciting players now exist to allow enjoyment of CD rips and High Resolution files. While this is all good news however, the concept of the true source component has been lost, as the distribution, storage, and delivery of the large Hi-Res music files to the player are now entrusted to computer type devices and technologies.

First UK Preview Graham Audio VOTU Loudspeaker

VOTU is a 4-way reflex loudspeaker developed from an original Graham Audio design for the Royal Opera House and offers the same neutrality and transparency as Graham Audio’s BBC-licensed loudspeakers, but at much higher sound pressure levels.

VOTU delivers extremely high levels of openness and delicacy combined with an astonishing dynamic performance.
