ALBUM Live Recording Flacs. The music recorded here across a series of occasions in late October and early December 08 speaks with its own universal language. At every point, the playing is eloquent. Since I set up microphones in numerous locations to capture these songs and performances, I'll note that Gene Bertoncini is a genuine artistic perfectionist. I've seldom experienced any musician who demands so much truthful precision from each note, each song, and each performance. Art Farmer comes to mind, but even Art allowed room for diversions, errors and digressions thoroughly foreign to Gene. - Jim Merod.
